Alison Brie Schermerhorn (born December 29, 1982) is an American actress, writer, producer, and director. She was born and raised in Hollywood, California. Brie graduated from the California Institute of the Arts with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in theater.
Brie began her professional acting career with minor roles in television shows such as “Hannah Montana” and “The Nine Lives of Chloe King.” Her breakthrough role came in 2009 when she was cast as Annie Edison in the NBC comedy series “Community.” She continued in this role for six seasons, until the show’s conclusion in 2015.
Simultaneously with “Community,” Brie gained further recognition for her portrayal of Trudy Campbell in the AMC period drama “Mad Men” (2007-2015). This role garnered her critical acclaim and solidified her position as a versatile actress.
Following the success of “Community” and “Mad Men,” Brie transitioned into film and continued to work in television. She starred in and co-created the Netflix comedy-drama series “GLOW” (2017-2019), for which she received multiple Golden Globe and Screen Actors Guild Award nominations.
