Sienna Rose Miller was born on December 28, 1981, in New York City, to Edwin Miller, an American banker turned art dealer, and Josephine “Jo” Miller, a South African-born former actress and later David Bowie’s personal assistant. She moved to London with her family when she was a year old. Miller was educated at Heathfield School in Ascot, Berkshire. She studied acting at the Lee Strasberg Theatre and Film Institute in New York.
Miller began her career with minor roles in television series such as “Two Thousand Acres of Sky” (2001) and “Bedtime” (2001). Her early film appearances included “High Speed” (2002) and “Layer Cake” (2004). Her breakthrough role came in 2004 with her performance in “Alfie,” a remake of the 1966 film.
