Freema Agyeman was born on March 20, 1979, in London, England. Her mother, Azar, is Iranian, and her father, Osei, is Ghanaian. She attended Anna Scher Theatre School and later studied Performing Arts and Drama at Middlesex University, graduating in 2000.
