Emmanuelle Chriqui was born on December 10, 1975, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, to Moroccan Jewish parents. She was raised in a Moroccan Jewish Orthodox household. Her mother worked as a beauty consultant, and her father worked in the tire industry. She has siblings, including a brother and a sister. Chriqui began taking acting classes at the age of 10 and attended Unionville High School in Unionville, Ontario.
Chriqui started her acting career in the early 1990s, primarily appearing in Canadian television.
