Audrey Justine Tautou was born on August 9, 1976, in Beaumont, Puy-de-Dôme, France. Her father, Bernard Tautou, was a dental surgeon, and her mother, Evelyne Tautou, was a teacher. She grew up in Montluçon, Allier. Tautou began taking acting classes during her school years and studied modern literature at the Sorbonne University in Paris.
