Joanna Vanderham was born on January 18, 1991, in Perth, Scotland. She was raised in Scone, Perthshire. Her mother, Jill Belch, is a professor of cardiovascular medicine at the University of Dundee, and her father, Tom Vanderham, is a businessman. Joanna attended Strathallan School and trained at the Royal Welsh College of Music & Drama in Cardiff, graduating in 2012.
Vanderham’s acting career began shortly after graduating. She secured a role in the Sky1 drama series “The Runaway” in 2011. This marked her professional screen debut and provided early exposure to a wider audience.
