Rachel Elizabeth Brosnahan was born on July 12, 1990, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She was raised in Highland Park, Illinois. She is of Irish and Jewish descent. Brosnahan attended Highland Park High School, where she was involved in theater and speech activities. She graduated in 2008. She later attended the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University, graduating in 2012.
Brosnahan’s acting career began with guest appearances in television shows such as “Gossip Girl,” “The Good Wife,” and “Grey’s Anatomy” in the early 2010s. She also had minor roles in films like “Beautiful Creatures” (2013) and “House of Cards” (2013-2015), where she played Rachel Posner, a role that garnered her critical attention.
