Milena Markovna “Mila” Kunis was born on August 14, 1983, in Chernivtsi, Ukrainian SSR, Soviet Union (now Ukraine). In 1991, at the age of seven, she and her family immigrated to the United States, settling in Los Angeles, California. She began taking acting classes shortly after arriving in the U.S. to learn English.

Early Career and Breakthrough

Kunis began her acting career with minor roles in television series and commercials. Her breakthrough came in 1998 when she was cast as Jackie Burkhart in the Fox sitcom That ’70s Show. She portrayed the character for all eight seasons of the show, which ran until 2006.
