Kristanna Sommer Loken was born on October 8, 1979, in Ghent, New York. Her mother, Rande (née Porath), is a former model, and her father, Merlin “Chris” Loken, is a writer and apple farmer. She is of Norwegian and German descent.
Loken began her career as a model before transitioning to acting. Her early television roles included appearances in series such as “As the World Turns” (1994-1995), “Law & Order” (1996), and “Boy Meets World” (1997). She also had recurring roles in series like “Unhappily Ever After” (1996-1997) and “Pensacola: Wings of Gold” (1998-1999).
Loken gained significant recognition for her portrayal of the T-X in “Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines” (2003). This role served as her breakthrough, establishing her as an action star. She also played the role of Brunnhilde in the German television film “Ring of the Nibelungs” (2004), also released as “Dark Kingdom: The Dragon King.”
