Juliette Binoche was born on March 9, 1964, in Paris, France. Her mother, Monique Stalens, was a teacher and actress, and her father, Jean-Maurice Binoche, was a sculptor, director, and mime. She began acting in school productions as a teenager and attended the Cours Florent drama school in Paris.
Binoche started her film career with minor roles in the early 1980s. She gained recognition in French cinema with roles in films such as “Liberty Belle” (1983) and “Hail Mary” (1985) by Jean-Luc Godard.
Her breakthrough came in 1985 with André Téchiné’s “Rendez-vous,” which won her the Best Actress award at the Cannes Film Festival. This role led to increasing international visibility.
