Neve Adrianne Campbell was born on October 3, 1973, in Guelph, Ontario, Canada. Her mother, Marnie (née Neve), is a yoga instructor and psychologist, and her father, Gerry Campbell, taught high school drama. She is of Dutch, English, and Scottish descent. Campbell began ballet training at the age of six and attended the National Ballet School of Canada.
Campbell transitioned to acting after suffering injuries that hindered her ballet career. She appeared in Canadian television shows, including “Catwalk,” before gaining international recognition for her role as Julia Salinger in the Fox teen drama “Party of Five” (1994-2000).
