Kari Samantha Wuhrer was born on April 28, 1967, in Brookfield, Connecticut. She is the daughter of Karin (née Noble), an accountant, and Andrew Wuhrer, a police officer. She began performing at a young age, participating in school plays and local theater productions. She attended New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts but left before graduating to pursue acting roles.
Wuhrer’s professional acting career began in the late 1980s. One of her earliest roles was on MTV as a VJ from 1987 to 1988. She also had a brief stint as a singer, releasing an album titled “Shiny” in 1999.
Wuhrer has an extensive television career, including notable roles in various series. She gained recognition for her role as Maggie Beckett in the science fiction series Sliders (1997-2000). Other significant television appearances include: Remote Control (1987-1988), Swamp Thing (1990-1991), Beverly Hills, 90210 (1994-1995), and General Hospital (2005-2007).
