Izabella Dorota Scorupco was born on June 4, 1970, in Białystok, Poland. Her parents divorced when she was one year old, and she was raised primarily by her mother. In 1978, she moved to Bredäng, a suburb of Stockholm, Sweden.
Scorupco began her career in Sweden, achieving some success as a model and singer. She released a single, “Substitute,” which achieved gold status in Sweden in 1990. She also appeared in the Swedish soap opera “Vera Vilda” in 1988.
Scorupco’s international breakthrough came with her role as Bond girl Natalya Simonova in the 1995 James Bond film, GoldenEye. This role significantly raised her profile and led to more opportunities in international cinema.
Following GoldenEye, Scorupco starred in several American and European films. She played Helena Kurcewiczówna in the 1999 Polish epic film With Fire and Sword, directed by Jerzy Hoffman. She also appeared in Vertical Limit (2000), Reign of Fire (2002), and Exorcist: The Beginning (2004).
In later years, Scorupco continued to work in both film and television. She starred in the Swedish film Solstorm (2007) and had a recurring role in the American television series Alias. More recently, she has appeared in films such as The American Dream (2021) and Hidden: First Kill (2024).
