Kimberly Alexis Bledel was born on September 16, 1981, in Houston, Texas, to Nanette (née Dozier) and Martín Bledel. Her father is of Argentinian descent, and her mother has Danish, English, Scottish, Irish, and Welsh ancestry. Bledel was raised in a Spanish-speaking household and did not learn English until she started school. She attended St. Agnes Academy, a Catholic school in Houston.

Early Career and Gilmore Girls
