Sandrine Kiberlain was born Sandrine Jeanne Weber on February 25, 1968, in Boulogne-Billancourt, Hauts-de-Seine, France. Her father, David Debré, was an accountant, and her mother, a secretary. She is from an Ashkenazi Jewish family. She took acting classes at Cours Florent and the École nationale supérieure des arts et techniques du théâtre (ENSATT) in Paris.
Kiberlain began her acting career in the late 1980s. She initially appeared in small roles in television and film. Her early work included appearances in short films and television series, laying the foundation for her subsequent success in French cinema.
