Clémence Guichard, known professionally as Clémence Poésy, was born on November 30, 1982, in L’Haÿ-les-Roses, Val-de-Marne, France. Her father, Étienne Guichard, is an actor and writer, and her mother is a French teacher. She adopted the stage name “Poésy” from her mother’s maiden name.
Poésy began acting at a young age, attending drama classes. She started her career with roles in French television and film productions in the late 1990s and early 2000s. Her breakthrough role came in 2005 with her portrayal of Fleur Delacour in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire. She reprised the role in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 2.
