Natasha Bianca Lyonne Braunstein was born on March 10, 1979, in New York City, to Ivette Buchinger and Aaron Braunstein. Her father worked as a boxing promoter. Lyonne spent her early childhood in Great Neck, New York, before moving to Israel with her family for a period. She returned to New York City to attend Ramaz School, a private Jewish school, but was later expelled. She then attended Professional Children’s School.
Lyonne began her acting career at a young age, appearing in Pee-wee’s Playhouse and Heartburn (1986). Her breakthrough role came in Woody Allen’s Everyone Says I Love You (1996). She gained further recognition for her role as Jessica in American Pie (1999) and its sequels.
