Aisling Bea, born Aisling O’Sullivan on March 16, 1984, in County Kildare, Ireland, is an Irish actress, comedian, and writer. She attended Trinity College Dublin, where she studied French and Philosophy, and later trained at the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA).
Bea began her career in stand-up comedy before transitioning to acting. Her early television roles included appearances in shows such as “Cardinal Burns” and “Dead Boss.” Her acting career encompasses both comedic and dramatic roles across television and film.
Bea is the creator, writer, and star of the critically acclaimed Channel 4 comedy-drama series “This Way Up” (2019-2021), in which she plays a woman recovering from a nervous breakdown. She received a BAFTA Television Award for Best Female Comedy Performance for her work on the show.
