Early Life and Education

Alexandra Elizabeth Kingston (born 11 March 1963) is a British actress. She was born in Epsom, Surrey, England, to Anthony Kingston, a butcher, and Margaretha (née Renneisen), of German descent. Kingston was educated at Rosebery School for Girls and later attended the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA), graduating in 1985.

Acting Career

Kingston began her acting career in the late 1980s, appearing in various British television dramas. Her early work included roles in series such as Grange Hill, Crocodile Shoes, and The Bill. She gained wider recognition for her role as Moll Flanders in the 1996 television adaptation of Daniel Defoe’s novel.

Notable Roles and Achievements

Kingston is perhaps best known for her portrayal of Dr. Elizabeth Corday in the NBC medical drama ER, a role she held from 1997 to 2009. She received considerable acclaim for her performance, earning multiple Screen Actors Guild Award nominations as part of the ensemble cast.
