Amanda Schull was born on August 26, 1978, in Honolulu, Hawaii. She received formal ballet training at Hawaii State Ballet under the instruction of John Landovsky. She later attended Indiana University, where she continued her ballet studies and graduated with a degree in journalism and business management.
Before transitioning to acting, Schull had a professional ballet career. During her time at Indiana University, she spent a summer session studying on scholarship at the San Francisco Ballet School. She was then invited to join the San Francisco Ballet as an apprentice and subsequently became a member of the corps de ballet.
Schull’s acting career began with her role as Jody Sawyer in the 2000 film *Center Stage*. This role marked her transition from professional ballet to acting. While maintaining her ballet career, she began pursuing acting opportunities more actively.
Schull has had a substantial television career, appearing in numerous series in both recurring and leading roles. She is known for her portrayal of Katrina Bennett in the USA Network legal drama *Suits* (2013-2019). She also starred as Cassandra Railly in the Syfy series *12 Monkeys* (2015-2018). Other notable television credits include roles in *One Tree Hill*, *Pretty Little Liars*, *Murder in the First*, and *MacGyver*.
In addition to *Center Stage*, Schull has appeared in several other films. Her filmography includes roles in *Women in Trouble* (2009), *J. Edgar* (2011), and *I Am Wrath* (2016). She has also starred in a number of Hallmark Channel movies.
