Amy Jo Johnson was born on October 6, 1970, in Cape Cod, Massachusetts, United States. She is an American actress, director, singer, and songwriter. Prior to her acting career, she was a competitive gymnast.
Johnson is primarily known for her role as Kimberly Hart, the Pink Power Ranger, in the original Mighty Morphin Power Rangers television series, which premiered in 1993. This role launched her acting career and established her as a recognizable figure in popular culture. She left the show during the third season.
Following her departure from Power Rangers, Johnson continued to act in television and film. She had recurring roles and guest appearances in various series, including Felicity, The Division, and Wildfire. She also starred as Jules Callaghan in the Canadian police drama series Flashpoint, which ran from 2008 to 2012.
In more recent years, Johnson has focused on directing and independent film projects. She successfully funded her directorial debut, The Space Between, through crowdfunding platforms. Her second film, Tammy’s Always Dying, premiered in 2019.
