Amy Pietz was born on March 6, 1969, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. She attended Milwaukee High School of the Arts, focusing on theater. She later studied acting at DePaul University’s Theatre School in Chicago, graduating in 1991.
Pietz began her acting career with stage productions in Chicago. Her breakthrough role came with the NBC sitcom “Caroline in the City,” where she played Annie Spadaro from 1995 to 1999. This role brought her national recognition and established her as a comedic actress.
Following “Caroline in the City,” Pietz has maintained a consistent presence in television. She has appeared in numerous guest roles and recurring roles on various series, including “CSI: Crime Scene Investigation,” “Ally McBeal,” “The Drew Carey Show,” “Rodney,” “The Office,” “Burn Notice,” “Desperate Housewives,” “Ghost Whisperer,” “Private Practice,” “Parks and Recreation,” “Modern Family,” “Two and a Half Men,” “The Mentalist,” and “Devious Maids.” She also had a recurring role in the ABC Family (now Freeform) series “Aliens in America.” Pietz also starred in the short-lived sitcom “Stacked” alongside Pamela Anderson.
