Anna Ragsdale Camp was born on September 27, 1982, in Aiken, South Carolina. She was raised in Columbia, South Carolina. Camp graduated from Meadowbrook School in Roswell, Georgia, and attended the University of North Carolina School of the Arts, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2004.
Camp’s career began primarily on stage. She made her Broadway debut in 2008 in the play “Equus,” starring Daniel Radcliffe. She also garnered attention for her Off-Broadway performances, including her role in “columbinus” in 2005.
Camp transitioned to television with roles in various series. She had recurring roles in shows such as “The Office” (as Angela’s nemesis, Penny Beesly), “Mad Men” (as Pete Campbell’s mistress, Bethany Van Nuys), and “True Blood” (as Sarah Newlin).
Camp’s film career gained momentum with her role as Aubrey Posen in the “Pitch Perfect” film series (2012, 2015, 2017). This role significantly raised her profile. She has also appeared in films such as “The Help” (2011), “Cafe Society” (2016), “One Night Stand” (2011), and “Desiree” (2009).
