Camryn Grimes was born on January 7, 1990, in Van Nuys, California. She is of Irish, English, and Scottish descent. She began her acting career at a very young age, quickly gaining recognition for her talent.
Grimes is best known for her role as Cassie Newman on the CBS daytime soap opera The Young and the Restless. She joined the show in 1997 at the age of six. She won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series in 2000 for her portrayal of Cassie, becoming the youngest actress to win in that category at the time. After her character’s death in 2005, Grimes continued to make occasional appearances on the show as Cassie’s spirit.
In 2014, Grimes returned to The Young and the Restless in a new role as Mariah Copeland, a con artist impersonating Sharon Newman’s long-lost daughter. For her portrayal of Mariah, she won the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2018.
