Eleanor Tomlinson was born on May 19, 1992, in London, England. She moved to Beverley, East Riding of Yorkshire, as a child. Her parents, Judith Hibbert and Malcolm Tomlinson, are both involved in acting; her father is an actor, and her mother was formerly an actress and is now a voice-over artist.
Tomlinson began her acting career in the early 2000s with minor roles in television series such as “The Bill” and “Casualty.” She gained early recognition for her role as Young Sophie in “The Illusionist” (2006).
