Irina Dvorovenko is a Ukrainian-American actress and former principal dancer with the American Ballet Theatre (ABT). She was born on August 31, 1973, in Kyiv, Ukraine. Dvorovenko began her ballet training at the Kyiv Ballet School at the age of 10.
Dvorovenko joined the Kyiv Ballet Company as a soloist in 1990. In 1996, she joined American Ballet Theatre as a soloist and was promoted to principal dancer later that year. During her distinguished career with ABT, which spanned nearly two decades, she performed leading roles in a vast repertoire of classical and contemporary ballets. Some of her most notable roles included Odette/Odile in Swan Lake, Aurora in The Sleeping Beauty, Kitri in Don Quixote, and Juliet in Romeo and Juliet. She retired from ABT in 2013.
Following her retirement from ballet, Dvorovenko transitioned to a career in acting. She has appeared in various television shows and films, showcasing her dramatic and comedic talents.
