Jamie Gray Hyder was born on April 26, 1985, in Dearborn, Michigan. Her father is Lebanese and her mother is of Irish descent. She attended John Guy Voinovich School of Leadership and Public Affairs at Ohio University, where she studied journalism.
Hyder began her acting career in the late 2000s, primarily working on television. She gained recognition for her recurring role as Danielle in the HBO series “True Blood” (2013-2014).
Hyder is perhaps best known for her role as Lieutenant Natasha “Phoenix” Trace in the CBS procedural drama “Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” (2014-2019). She also played Jen in the video game “Killzone: Shadow Fall” (2013). Other significant television roles include Lucienne in “Graceland” (2015), and Callie Thorne in “Chicago Med” (2016). She appeared in guest roles on shows such as “The Blacklist,” “Rizzoli & Isles,” and “Hawaii Five-0.” She was also a main cast member in the short-lived series “SEAL Team” (2020-2021), playing Lieutenant Lisa Davis.
