Jamie Lee Curtis was born on November 22, 1958, in Santa Monica, California. She is the daughter of actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She attended Westlake School (now Harvard-Westlake School) and Beverly Hills High School before studying at the University of the Pacific in Stockton, California, though she did not graduate.
Curtis’s acting career began in 1977 with television appearances on shows such as “Columbo,” “Charlie’s Angels,” and “Operation Petticoat.” Her film debut came in 1978 with the horror film “Halloween,” which launched her into prominence.
Curtis is particularly known for her roles in horror and comedic films. She is often referred to as a “scream queen” due to her frequent appearances in horror films. In 2023, Curtis won the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actress for her role in “Everything Everywhere All at Once”. She has also received accolades for her television work, including a Golden Globe Award for her role in the television series “Anything But Love.”
