Jan Broberg Felt, born July 31, 1972, is an American actress, producer, advocate, and author. She gained widespread public attention due to her childhood abductions in the 1970s by a neighbor, Robert Berchtold. These events were later documented in the Netflix documentary Abducted in Plain Sight and the Peacock limited series A Friend of the Family, in which she served as a producer.
Broberg began acting professionally after her experiences as a child. Her acting career primarily consists of television appearances and smaller film roles. While her life experiences have overshadowed her acting work, she has actively pursued and maintained a career in the entertainment industry.
While not a prolific actress with leading roles, Broberg has appeared in several projects. She is often involved in projects that address issues of abuse, trauma, and resilience aligning with her personal story and advocacy work.
Beyond acting, Broberg is an advocate for child safety and abuse prevention. She has used her platform to raise awareness about grooming and manipulation tactics, sharing her personal story to educate others. Her involvement in the production of A Friend of the Family allowed her to have creative control and ensure the accuracy and sensitivity of the portrayal of her experiences. She also co-authored the book, Stolen Innocence: The Jan Broberg Story.
As of 2024, Broberg continues to work in the entertainment industry, both in front of and behind the camera. She remains committed to her advocacy work
