Jessica Barden was born on July 21, 1992, in Northallerton, North Yorkshire, England. She was raised in Yorkshire and began her acting career at a young age.
Barden’s acting career began in 1999 with a small role in an episode of the television series My Parents Are Aliens. She continued to appear in various British television shows, including No Angels (2006) and The Chase (2006-2007).
Barden gained wider recognition for her role as Kayleigh in the British teen drama series Coronation Street (2007-2008). She then appeared in films such as Tamara Drewe (2010) and Hanna (2011). A significant role came in 2015 with her portrayal of Liddy in Yorgos Lanthimos’s The Lobster.
Her performance as Alyssa in the Netflix series The End of the F***ing World (2018-2020) brought her international acclaim. She also starred in the film Pink Skies Ahead (2020) and the Netflix series Pieces of Her (2022).
