Katheryn Winnick, born Katerena Anna Vinitska on December 17, 1977, in Etobicoke, Ontario, Canada, is a Canadian actress. She comes from a Ukrainian family and is fluent in Ukrainian, English, and French. Winnick began martial arts training at the age of seven, earning her first black belt by the age of thirteen. She later founded her own martial arts school.
Winnick began her acting career with guest appearances in television series such as PSI Factor: Chronicle of the Paranormal, Student Bodies, and Oz. She gradually transitioned into more substantial roles, appearing in various TV shows and films.
Winnick is best known for her role as Lagertha in the History Channel television series Vikings (2013-2020).
