Kim Min-hee (born March 1, 1982) is a South Korean actress. She began her career as a model in her teens and transitioned into acting in the late 1990s. Early roles included appearances in television dramas such as “School 2” (1999) and “Juliet’s Man” (2000).
Kim Min-hee gradually shifted her focus to film, gaining recognition for her performances in projects that showcased her versatility. Early film roles included “Au Revoir, UFO” (2004) and “Hellcats” (2008). Her performances in these films demonstrated an ability to portray a range of characters and contributed to her growing reputation.
Kim Min-hee’s career reached new heights with her role in Hong Sang-soo’s “Right Now, Wrong Then” (2015), for which she won the Best Actress award at the Busan Film Critics Awards. This collaboration marked the beginning of a significant and critically acclaimed partnership with director Hong Sang-soo. She subsequently starred in several of his films, including “On the Beach at Night Alone” (2017), for which she won the Silver Bear for Best Actress at the 67th Berlin International Film Festival, making her the first Korean actress to win the award. This achievement solidified her international recognition.
