Lyndsy Marie Fonseca, born January 7, 1987, in Oakland, California, is an American actress. She was raised primarily in Alameda and Moraga, California. Fonseca began her career as a dancer and model before transitioning to acting.
Fonseca’s early acting roles included guest appearances on television shows such as “Boston Public” and “Malcolm in the Middle.” She gained significant recognition for her recurring role as Colleen Carlton on the CBS soap opera “The Young and the Restless” from 2001 to 2005.
Fonseca achieved wider recognition for her portrayal of Penny Mosby, the daughter of Ted Mosby (Josh Radnor), in the CBS sitcom “How I Met Your Mother” (2005-2014).
