BIO: Maggie Siff

Early Life and Education

Maggie Siff was born on June 21, 1974, in The Bronx, New York City. She is of Ashkenazi Jewish (Romanian-Jewish and Russian-Jewish) and Irish descent. Siff graduated from The Bronx High School of Science in 1992. She earned a B.A. in English from Bryn Mawr College in 1996, where she minored in Russian. Siff then pursued acting training at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts, earning an M.F.A. in acting.

Early Career and Stage Work

Before transitioning to television and film, Siff worked extensively in regional theater. She received a Barrymore Award for Excellence in Acting for her performance in Henrik Ibsen’s “Ghosts” at Lantern Theater Company in Philadelphia. She also appeared in productions at the Wilma Theater and Arden Theatre Company.
