Burnett’s professional acting career began with her role as Melanie Jonas on the NBC daytime drama *Days of Our Lives*. She joined the cast in 2008 and departed in 2012. Her portrayal of Melanie earned her a Daytime Emmy Award nomination in 2010 for Outstanding Younger Actress in a Drama Series.
