Natasha Jane Richardson (11 May 1963 – 18 March 2009) was a British actress of stage and screen. She was born in London, England, to actress Vanessa Redgrave and director/producer Tony Richardson. She was the granddaughter of actors Sir Michael Redgrave and Rachel Kempson.
Richardson began her acting career on stage, appearing in productions such as “On the Razzle” (1983) and “The Seagull” (1985). She made her West End debut in “The Taming of the Shrew” in 1987. Her Broadway debut came in 1993 in a revival of “Anna Christie,” for which she won the Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play.
Richardson transitioned to film and television, gaining recognition for her versatility and range. She frequently played roles that showcased both her dramatic and comedic talents.
