Naturi Cora Maria Naughton was born on May 20, 1984, in East Orange, New Jersey. She is of African American and Puerto Rican descent. She attended St. Joseph’s Elementary School and Immaculate Conception High School in Montclair, New Jersey. Naughton began singing in her church choir at the age of five.
Naturi Naughton began her career as a member of the platinum-selling R&B group 3LW (3 Little Women) in 1999. The group achieved success with singles like “No More (Baby I’ma Do Right)” and “Playas Gon’ Play.” Naughton left the group in 2002.
Naughton transitioned to acting, making her film debut in the 2005 film Hairspray, where she played Little Inez. She has since built a career in both film and television.
