Sarah Jane Hyland was born on November 24, 1990, in New York City, New York. She is the daughter of actors Melissa Canaday and Edward James Hyland. Hyland attended the Professional Performing Arts School in Manhattan.
Hyland began her acting career at a young age, appearing in commercials and stage productions. She made her film debut in 1997 in the movie “Private Parts.” Her early television roles included appearances in “Another World” and “One Life to Live.”
