Sophie Lowe was born on June 5, 1990, in Sheffield, England. She moved to Australia as a child and grew up in New South Wales. Lowe initially pursued a career in dance and modeling before transitioning to acting.
Lowe began her acting career in the late 2000s with roles in Australian television series and short films. Her early work helped establish her as a promising young talent in the Australian film industry.
Lowe gained wider recognition for her role as Olivia in the Australian coming-of-age film Beautiful Kate (2009). This performance earned her critical acclaim and nominations for several awards. She starred as Lauren in the Australian thriller Adore (2013), alongside Naomi Watts and Robin Wright. Lowe played Lena in the TV series Once Upon a Time in Wonderland (2013-2014), a spin-off of the popular ABC series Once Upon a Time.
