Sophie von Kessel was born on October 12, 1968, in Mexico City, Mexico. She is a German actress. Her family moved to Germany when she was a child. She is the daughter of German diplomat Count August Wilhelm von Kessel and Iranian artist and author Forough Nowrouzi.
Von Kessel received her acting training at the Otto Falckenberg School of the Performing Arts in Munich from 1989 to 1992.
