Tatiana Gabriele Maslany was born on September 22, 1985, in Regina, Saskatchewan, Canada. Her parents are Daniel Maslany, a woodworker, and Renate Maslany, a translator. She has two younger brothers, Daniel and Michael. Maslany is of Polish, German, Ukrainian, and Romanian descent. She began dancing at the age of four and acting in community theater at the age of nine. She attended Dr. Martin LeBoldus High School, graduating in 2003.
