Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie was born on July 26, 2000, in Wellington, New Zealand. She comes from a family with a strong connection to the performing arts. Her mother, Miranda Harcourt, is an actress and acting coach, and her father, Stuart McKenzie, is a director. She is also the granddaughter of actress Dame Kate Harcourt and businessman Peter Harcourt. McKenzie attended Samuel Marsden Collegiate School in Wellington.
