Toni Collette Galafassi, known professionally as Toni Collette, was born on November 1, 1972, in Blacktown, New South Wales, Australia. She is of Italian, English, Scottish, and German descent. She attended Blacktown Girls High School and later the Australian Theatre for Young People.
Collette’s acting career began with stage productions, including “Godspell” in her late teens. Her film debut was in the 1992 comedy-drama “Spotswood,” also starring Anthony Hopkins and Russell Crowe.
