Tracy Spiridakos was born on February 20, 1988, in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada, to Greek parents, George and Anastasia Spiridakos. When she was four years old, her family moved back to Skala, Greece, where they lived until she was nine. She then returned to Winnipeg. Spiridakos began acting in high school and studied at the Actors Training Centre in Winnipeg.
Spiridakos moved to Vancouver, British Columbia, to pursue acting. Early in her career, she appeared in small roles in television series such as “Supernatural,” “Bionic Woman,” and “The L Word.” Her breakthrough role came in 2010 when she starred as Becky Richards in the Canadian television series “Being Human.”
Spiridakos gained wider recognition for her lead role as Charlotte “Charlie” Matheson in the NBC post-apocalyptic science fiction series “Revolution” (2012–2014). She also starred as Annika Johnson in the A&E drama series “Bates Motel” (2015). In 2017, Spiridakos joined the cast of the NBC police procedural drama “Chicago P.D.” as Detective Hailey Upton, a role she has held since then. She has also appeared in crossover episodes of “Chicago Fire” and “Chicago Med.”
