Yvonne Strahovski was born Yvonne Jaqueline Strzechowski on July 30, 1982, in Werrington Downs, New South Wales, Australia. Her parents, Peter and Bozena Strzechowski, were Polish immigrants. She adopted the stage name “Strahovski” for easier pronunciation in English-speaking countries. She attended Santa Sabina College in Strathfield and graduated from the University of Western Sydney’s Theatre Nepean in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts in Performance.
Strahovski began her acting career in Australia, appearing in television shows such as “Double the Fist,” “HeadLand,” and “Sea Patrol.” She also appeared in the Australian film “Gone” in 2007.
Her international breakthrough came with her role as CIA Agent Sarah Walker in the NBC action-comedy series “Chuck” (2007-2012). The show garnered a significant following and established Strahovski as a prominent actress.
Following “Chuck,” Strahovski continued to work extensively in television. She had a recurring role as Hannah McKay in the Showtime series “Dexter” (2012-2013).
